(undated) - The Purdue Boilermakers and Ball State Cardinals received invitations to extend their 2012 campaigns into the postseason.
Purdue earned a trip to the Heart of Dallas Bowl and will face the 7-and-5 Oklahoma State Cowboys on January First in Dallas.
The Boilermakers fired Head Coach Danny Hope after beating Indiana in the Old Oaken Bucket game but finished the regular season with six wins to become bowl eligible.
Wide Receivers Coach Patrick Higgins will coach the team on an interim basis.
The Cardinals finished with a 9-3 record and will face the 9-4 University of Central Florida Knights in St. Petersburg at the Beef 'O Brady's Bowl on December 21st.
Ball State completed their season on a six game winning streak and finished second in the MAC West with a 6-2 record.
The Beef 'O Brady's Bowl generally pits a Conference USA team against a team from the Big-East Conference.
The Big East did not have enough bowl eligible teams to fulfill the obligation.
