(Indianapolis, IN) - The Indianapolis Colts waived tight end Dominique Jones from the active roster following their come from behind 35-33 win over the Detroit Lions.
Jones was signed by the Colts as an undrafted free agent in April and was waived on October 8th.
He spent time on the Miami Dolphins practice squad before rejoining the Colts on November 21st.
The Colts are 8-and-4 after beating the Lions Sunday, and hold a one game lead on the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals for the top wildcard spot in the AFC.
The Colts also have the advantage on the conference tiebreaker if all or two of the teams end the season with the same record. Indianapolis will host the 4-8 Tennessee Titans this weekend, who lost to the Houston Texans 24-to-10 Sunday in Nashville.
The win allowed the Texans to secure a playoff spot with an 11-and-1 record and have the inside track on winning a second straight AFC South Division title.
