(Honolulu, HI) - The Indiana State Sycamores defeated the Miami Hurricanes 57-55 in overtime to finish third in the Diamond Head Classic in Honolulu, Hawaii.
Jake Odum banked in a jump shot with under a second remaining in the overtime period to secure the win for the Sycamores, who finish the tournament with two wins over major conference opponents and a narrow loss to number-18 San Diego State.
Indiana State was able to pull out the win despite shooting 27 percent from the field.
Manny Arop and RJ Mahurin each had thirteen points and Odum finished with nine points, six assists, and six rebounds for the Sycamores.
The 8-3 Hurricanes were led by Kenny Kadji's thirteen points and seven rebounds.
Indiana State is 7-4 on the season and host the 9-3 Illinois State Redbirds Sunday at the Hulman Center.
