(Indianapolis, IN) - Head Coach Chuck Pagano has guaranteed his starting units will be on the field when the Colts host the 13-3 Houston Texans Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium.
Pagano made the declaration Wednesday after arriving to work just ahead of a violent snow storm that swept through Central Indiana.
The returning head coach said that resting his first string players because of no tangible benefits from beating the Texans was not in the team DNA and that fans deserved to see their best.
The Colts will learn their destination in the conference wildcard round following Sunday's week-seventeen schedule of games.
The Colts will open the playoffs in Baltimore unless the Ravens beat the Bengals in Cincinnati and the Patriots lose to Miami at home.
Only both of those outcomes combined would place Indianapolis in New England for a rematch of the Patriots 59-24 blowout win over the Colts on November 18th.
The Texans are in contention for the top seed in the AFC and will guarantee a first round bye and home field advantage throughout the playoffs by sweeping the season series against Indianapolis.
Houston has lost two of their last three games but defeated the Colts 29-17 two weeks ago in their first head-to-head matchup.
Center Samson Satele and running back Delone Carter have been ruled out for Sunday's game, and defensive end Cory Redding was held out of practice Thursday with an injury to his quad.
Backup center AQ Shipley was limited in practice yesterday along with safety Tom Zbikowski, linebacker Kavell Conner, and wideout Donnie Avery.
Kickoff Sunday from Lucas Oil Stadium is at 1:00
