(South Bend IN) - The Notre Dame Fighting Irish cooled off the Villanova Wildcats, 65-60 at the Joyce Center in South Bend.
The Wildcats had two consecutive wins over top five teams before last night's defeat against unranked-Notre Dame, who slipped from the top-25 after losing two of three games at home.
Freshman Cameron Biedscheid came off the bench to make five of Notre Dame's nine three pointers and finished 18 points on the evening.
Jack Cooley added 17 points and 16 rebounds and Jerian Grant scored 12 points for the Fighting Irish.
Mouphtaou Yarou had 20 points and seven rebounds for Villanova, who slip to 13-8 overall, 4-4 in the Big East, and host the Providence Fryers Sunday afternoon.
Notre Dame is 13-4 overall, 5-3 in the conference, and travel to the DePaul Blue Demons Saturday.
