(Indianapolis, IN) - Bruce Arians has accepted an offer to become the next head coach of the Arizona Cardinals, ending his one year tenure as offensive coordinator for the Indianapolis Colts.
Arizona confirmed in a press release Thursday night that Arians had agreed to a four year contract with a club optional fifth year.
Arians was offered the job after interviewing with the Cardinals Thursday morning, and begins his first career NFL head coaching job with an Arizona team that finished 5-11 last season.
The Cardinals relived Ken Whisenhunt of his head coaching duties last month after the team failed to make the playoffs for the third straight season.
Arians went 9-3 as Colts interim head coach while Chuck Pagano took a leave of absence to fight Leukemia.
