(Indianapolis, IN) - Indianapolis Colts offensive coordinator, Bruce Arians, was eliminated as a candidate for the head coaching job with the San Diego Chargers after the team introduced Mike McCoy of the Denver Broncos yesterday as their new head coach.
Arians was scheduled to interview with the Chargers today and was the assumed frontrunner for the position after former Colts Vice President of Football Operations, Tom Telesco, left Indianapolis to become San Diego's new General Manager.
Telesco informed Arians of the decision Tuesday morning and said McCoy was presently the better fit for the Chargers.
Arians was reportedly one of three finalists to land the head coaching job with the Chicago Bears.
Early Wednesday morning the Bears reportedly signed Marc Trestman of the Montreal Alouettes to be their new head coach.
