(Evansville, IN) - The Evansville Aces pulled into a second place tie in the Missouri Valley Conference by grinding out a 71-67 victory over the Wichita State Shockers at Ford Center.
Evansville shot 31 free throw attempts to the Shockers 13 and made seven free throws down the stretch in clinching their fourth straight conference win.
Wichita State's 54 percent shooting night was offset by 22 turnovers during a game that featured 13 ties and 16 lead changes.
Colt Ryan had 24 points and eight assists and Troy Taylor added 12 points and six rebounds for the Aces.
Malcolm Armstead had 21 points and made 3 of 4, 3-point attempts for the Shockers, who are 15-2 overall, 4-1 in the conference and host the Illinois State Redbirds Wednesday.
The Aces are 11-6 overall, 4-1 in the conference, and travel to the Drake Bulldogs Wednesday night.
