(West Lafayette, IN) - The number-three Indiana Hoosiers defeated the Purdue Boilermakers by their second largest margin ever, a 97-60 rout at Mackey Arena Wednesday night.
Cody Zeller's 19 points and 11 rebounds meshed with a season high 12, 3-pointers from his teammates, including four 3-pointers from senior Christian Watford.
Indiana stormed out to a 20 point lead at the break and never let Purdue come any closer than 18 points in the second half.
The Boilermakers committed 18 turnovers in producing their worst home loss in school history.
AJ Hammons led the Boilermakers with 30 points while Ronnie Johnson had 13 points and five assists for Purdue and his older brother, Terone Johnson, tied his lowest scoring output of the season at four points.
The Boilermakers fall to 11-10 overall, 4-4 in the Big Ten Conference, and play at the Northwestern Wildcats Saturday.
Indiana is 19-2 overall and tied with number-two Michigan for the conference lead at 7-1.
The Wolverines and Hoosiers play Saturday at Assembly Hall.
