(BEDFORD) - Kristin (Pritchett) Messmore is being inducted into the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame.
Messmore, a teacher at Shawswick Middle School and basketball coach, will be recognized as a member of the 2013 Silver Anniversary Team.
She's one of 18 women recognized for accomplishments as senior players 25 years ago. Messmore was a four-year letterman for Bedford North Lawrence and graduated in 1988 after helping the Lady Stars to a record of 83-13 and four sectional and three regional championships during her career.
She scored 1,017 career points and set the BNL single-game scoring record of 53 points.
Messmore went on to play four years of basketball at IUPUI in Indianapolis. Messmore's teams at IUPUI, were twice district champion and once advanced to the National Tournament semi-finals.
She was twice all-district and was named the recipient of the prestigious Mel Garland Distinguished Student-Athlete Award.
Messmore's entry to the Hall of Fame, allows her to join her father, legendary BNL head coach Austin "Pete" Pritchett.
