(Cincinnati, OH) - The number-16 Notre Dame Fighting Irish extended their winning streak to twelve by beating the number-20 Cincinnati Bearcats, 66-60 at Fifth Third Arena in Cincinnati.
Notre Dame used a ten point run late in the second half that was punctuated by a layup from Jack Cooley, who finished with 11 points and eight rebounds against the Bearcats.
Jerian Grant topped all scorers with 19 points, and Scott Martin made four 3-pointers to lead a 9-16 shooting barrage from Notre Dame behind the arc.
Sean Kilpatrick had 15 points for the Cincinnati, who have lost three straight at home for the first since the 2006-2007 season.
The Bearcats are 13-3 overall, 1-2 in the Big-East Conference, and travel to the Rutgers Scarlet Knights Saturday.
The Fighting Irish are off to their best start during Mike Brey's 15 seasons with the university with a 14-1 overall record, 2-0 in the Big East, and host the Connecticut Huskies Saturday at the Joyce Center.
