(Dallas, TX) - The Purdue Boilermakers disappointing season came to an end yesterday with a 58-14 collapse against the Oklahoma State Cowboys in the Heart of Dallas Bowl in Dallas, Texas.
Purdue trailed 45-0 late in the third quarter and made a number of mistakes in allowing the Cowboys to secure an easy victory on New Year's Day.
Purdue incoming Head Coach Darrell Hazel was in attendance to witness Oklahoma State's biggest bowl win since a 62-14 victory over Wyoming in 1988.
Hazel will relieve Interim Head Coach Patrick Higgins, who took over for Danny Hope after he was fired at the end of the regular season.
The Boilermakers finish the year at 6-7 overall and 3-5 in the Big Ten Conference.
