(Cedar Falls, IA) - The Indiana State Sycamores never trailed the Northern Iowa Panthers in a 65-61 victory at McLeod Center in Cedar Falls, Iowa.
The Panthers trailed by just three points in the final six seconds of the game but turned the ball over on their ensuing position.
Lucas Eitel made a free throw to give Indiana State a two possession lead and eventually a 2-0 record in the Missouri Valley Conference.
Justin Gant led the Sycamores with 18 points and Seth Tuttle had 24 points and 10 rebounds for the Panthers.
Northern Iowa is 7-7 overall, 0-2 in the conference and travel to the Illinois State Red Birds Saturday.
The Sycamores are 9-4 overall and travel to the number-11 Creighton Blue Jays, also Saturday.
