(Valparaiso, IN) - The Valparaiso Crusaders are winners of six straight games after a 73-61 victory over the Green Bay Phoenix at the ARC.
The Crusaders opened up a 16 point led in the first half and used a 12-5 run in the second to pull away from the Phoenix after the visitors cut the lead to one.
Ryan Broekhoff led all scorers with 19 points and Kevin Van Wijk added 12 points for the Crusaders, who are in sole possession of first place in the Horizon League following last night's win.
The Phoenix fall to 10-10 overall, 4-3 in the league, and travel to the Milwaukee Panthers Friday night.
Valparaiso are 16-5 overall, 6-1 in the Horizon League, and break until their matchup at Youngstown State on January 30th.
