(Detroit, MI) - The Valparaiso Crusaders erased an 18 point halftime deficit in an 89-88 win over the Detroit Titans at Calihan Hall in Detroit.
The Crusaders ended Detroit's 17 game winning streak at home and have won seven of their last eight games.
The Titans led 88-to-77 with three minutes left in the second half but failed to score the rest of the game.
Valpo closed out with a 12-0 run that included back-to-back 3-pointers by Matt Kenney and two game clinching free throws by Ryan Broekhoff with 17 seconds remaining in the contest.
Nick Minnerath led all scorers with 36 points for the Titans and Kevin Van Wijk had 31 points for Valparaiso.
Detroit falls to 11-7 overall, 3-2 in the Horizon League and play the Illinois-Chicago Flames Saturday.
Valpo are 14-5 overall, 4-1 in league and host the first place Wright State Raiders Saturday.
