(Youngstown, OH) - The Youngstown State Penguins ended the Valparaiso Crusaders six game winning streak with an 80-68 win at Beeghly Physical Education Center in Youngstown, Ohio.
Valpo fell behind 12-4 in the game's opening minutes and trailed by double digits most of the second half.
Kendrick Perry scored a season high 28 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for the Penguins, who are one game behind the Crusaders for first place in the Horizon League after last night's win.
Kevin Van Wijk had 14 points for Valparaiso and Ryan Broekhoff and Eric Buggs scored 10 points each.
Youngstown State are 13-8 overall, 5-3 in the Horizon League, and travel to the second place Detroit Titans Friday night.
The Crusaders are 16-6 overall, 6-2 on the league table, and host the Milwaukee Panthers Friday.
