(West Lafayette, IN) - The Purdue Boilermakers ended a three game losing streak by routing the Northwestern Wildcats, 74-43 at Mackey Arena in West Lafayette.
The Boilermakers were playing their first game since losing to the top-ranked Indiana Hoosiers over a week ago and shot 53 percent from-the-field in dealing the Wildcats their worst loss of the season.
Terone Johnson led all scorers with 22 points for Purdue and DJ Byrd contributed 13 points to the winning effort.
Tre Demps was the closest player to score in double-digits for Northwestern with nine points.
Northwestern is 13-15 overall, 4-11 in the Big Ten Conference, and play again Thursday against the number-18 Ohio State Buckeyes.
Purdue is 13-14 overall, 6--8 in the Big Ten, and travel to the Iowa Hawkeyes Tuesday night.
