(St. Louis, MO) - St. Louis Cardinals veteran pitcher, Chris Carpenter, may have thrown the final pitch of his remarkable 16 year career.
The Cardinals announced Monday that Carpenter will likely miss the entire 2013 season after a recurrence of a nerve injury that forced the 37 year-old to sit most of last season.
Carpenter is entering the final year of his contract and will forfeit a 12.5 million dollar salary if he chooses to retire.
Carpenter won two World Series titles with St. Louis and was the National League Cy Young recipient for his performance in the 2005 season.
