(Champaign, IL) - The Illinois Fighting Illini used a big first half to blow out the Purdue Boilermakers, 79-59 in Champaign, Illinois.
The Fighting Illini had a fourteen point lead at halftime and cruised in the second half en-route to their third straight win.
DJ Richardson had 18 points and Tyler Griffey, who made the game winning layup against Indiana last week, came off the bench to score 12 points for Illinois.
Terone Johnson had 18 points and A-J Hammons and D-J Byrd scored 10 points each for the Boilermakers.
The Fighting Illini are 18-8 overall, 5-7 in the Big Ten Conference, and play Saturday at the Northwestern Wildcats. Purdue fall to 12-13 overall, 5-7 in the Big Ten, and play at the top-ranked Hoosiers Saturday afternoon
