(Fort Wayne, IN) - The IPFW Mastodons made a late run in the second half to beat the Oakland Golden Grizzlies, 77-71 at Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne.
The Mastodons went on a 12-1 run with under four minutes to go in the second half that included a 3-pointer by Luis Jacobo.
IPFW took a 70-65 lead and converted seven-of-ten free throw attempts down the stretch to finish off the Golden Grizzlies.
Travis Bader led all scorers with 23 points for Oakland.
Frank Gaines led the Mastodons with 17 points and Jacobo added 15 points and nine rebounds for IPFW.
Oakland is 15-14 overall, 10-5 in the Summit League, and play at home Saturday afternoon against the Morehead State Eagles.
The Mastodons are 13-16 overall, 6-9 in league play, and host the Bowling Green Falcons Saturday night.
