(Wichita, KA) - The Evansville Aces completed a season sweep over the first place Wichita State Shockers by winning 59-56 at Charles Koch Arena in Wichita.
The Shockers chipped away at the Aces 10 point half time lead and trailed by three in the closing minutes of the game.
Neither team scored in the final three and-a-half minutes of the second half and the game ended on a last second 3-point attempt by Wichita State.
Colt Ryan scored 20 points or more for the eighth time in nine games by leading all scorers with 29 points for Evansville.
Tekele Cotton had 12 points and nine rebounds and Cleanthony Early scored 10 points off the bench for Wichita State.
The Shockers are 12-5 in the Missouri Valley Conference and are tied for first place with the Creighton Blue Jays.
The winner of Saturday's regular season finale between the Wichita State and Creighton will be awarded the top seed in next week's conference tournament.
The Aces are tied for third place with the Indiana State Sycamores at 9-8 in the MVC.
The in-state rivals play each other for the second time this season at the Ford Center in Evansville Saturday evening.
