(Indianapolis, IN) - Matt Hasselbeck signed a two year contract with the Indianapolis Colts Tuesday, solidifying the fourteen-season NFL veteran as backup and mentor to Andrew Luck.
Hasselbeck was released by the Tennessee Titans Monday after spending two seasons in Nashville with comparable responsibilities.
He assisted in the development of Jake Locker, the eighth overall pick in 2011, and was named starter in 2012 after Locker tore his non-throwing shoulder.
Hasselbeck is the Seattle Seahakws all-time passing leader and will reportedly make 14-million dollars over the span of two seasons with the Colts.
