(Iowa City, IA) - The Indiana State Sycamores were eliminated from the National Invitation Tournament, falling to the Iowa Hawkeyes 68-52 at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City.
The third-seeded Hawkeyes opened the second half with a 19 to 4 scoring run in advancing comfortably to the quarter-finals of the postseason tournament.
The Sycamores were out-rebounded 39 to 25 and shot 38 percent from-the-field in their first trip to the NIT since 1978.
Ron Devyn Marble led all scorers with 24 points and Justin Gant led sixth-seeded Indiana State with 16 points.
ISU finish the season with an 18-15 overall record.
