(Iowa City, IA) - In the Women’s NCAA Tournament Tuesday, the number one seeded Notre Dame Fighting Irish advanced to the Norfolk Regional Semi-Finals by defeating the Iowa Hawkeyes, 74-57 at Carver-Hawkeye Arena in Iowa City.
Kayla McBride scored a career high 28-points in leading Notre Dame to their 28th consecutive win, the longest winning streak in school history.
The Fighting Irish built a 23 point advantage in the second half and never trailed the ninth-seeded Hawkeyes the entire game.
Skyler Diggins added 16-points for Notre Dame and Bethany Doolittle had 16-points for Iowa.
Notre Dame will play the twelfth-seeded Kansas Jayhawks in Norfolk on Sunday.
