(West Lafayette, IN) - In men’s college basketball Monday, the Santa Clara Broncos shot 63-percent in the second half to eliminate the Purdue Boilermakers from the College Basketball Invitational, 86-83 at Mackey Arena in West Lafayette.
Kevin Foster erupted for 34 points and dished out eight assists for the Broncos, who advance to the tournament semi-finals to play the Wright State Raiders in Dayton, Ohio.
Freshman Ronnie Johnson led the Boilermakers with 27 points and his older brother, Junior Terone Johnson, had 22 points on the evening.
Freshman guard Raphael Davis was unable to breach the scoring column in 26 minutes of action.
The Boilermakers finish the season 16-18 overall and 8-10 in the Big Ten Conference.
