(Washington DC) - The Indiana Hoosiers are out of the NCAA Tournament after falling to the Syracuse Orange, 61-50, in the East region semi-finals in Washington DC.
The Hoosiers were ineffective against the Orange's much advertised 2-3 zone defense and shot 33-percent from the floor in producing their lowest scoring total of the season.
Cody Zeller was limited in the physical, sweet-sixteen contest in scoring 10 points on 3 of 11 shooting and Christian Watford added to a total of 18 turnovers for Indiana with five of his own.
Michael Carter-Williams led all scorers with 24 points and Brandon Triche had 14 points for the Orange, who play the third-seeded Marquette Golden Eagles in the elite-eight Sunday.
The Hoosiers finish the season with a 29-7 overall record and won the Big Ten Championship outright for the first time since 1993.
