(Pittsburgh, PA) - In the National League Wednesday, The Pittsburgh Pirates hosted the Cardinals following Tuesday night’s rain postponement and managed a 5-0 shutout over the division leaders at PNC Park.
36 year old AJ Burnett pitched a no-hitter into the seventh-inning and struck out eight in picking up his first win of the season.
Carlos Beltran ended Burnett's attempt at his first no-hitter in 12 years with a 2 out double right-center field.
The Cardinals are 8-6 and continue their 10 game road trip tonight in Philadelphia.
