(Pittsburgh, PA) - In the National League Monday, the St. Louis Cardinals pounded the Pittsburgh Pirates for 10 runs in the first three innings during a 10-6 win over Pittsburgh at PNC Park.
John Jay had a pair of hits and 2 RBIs, including a 2 run double in the second inning that gave the Cardinals a 3-1 lead.
Allen Craig made it 6-1 later in the inning with a 2 run double and finished with 3 RBIs.
The Cardinals have a 2 game lead on the Pirates and Reds for first place in the National League Central Division.
The series resumes in Pittsburgh tonight at 7:10.
