(Miami, FL) In the National League Sunday, the Miami Marlins avoided a four game sweep by beating the Chicago Cubs, 6-4 at Marlins Park.
Carlos Villanueva fell to 1-1 and exited the game after four innings in his shortest outing of the season.
Giancarlo Stanton homered off of Villanueva in the first and later connected for a solo shot in the eighth for his fourth RBI on the day.
The Cubs are 9-15 and open a ten game stretch at Wrigley Field, beginning with the San Diego Padres tonight at 8:05.
