(Cleveland, OH) - In the American League Tuesday, the Boston Red Sox and Cleveland Indians saluted the grieving Boston community during a 7-2 Red Sox victory at Progressive Field in Cleveland.
The Red Sox hanged a gray "Boston" jersey in the dugout with the city zip code of "617" displayed.
Neil Diamond's "Sweet Caroline," a Fenway Park tradition in Boston, was aired at Progressive Field before the pitch, all in tribute to the city that was rocked by two fatal explosions just the day before.
The Red Sox scored all seven runs in the second-inning and Mike Napoli had a 2-hit, 3-RBI evening.
The series resumes in Cleveland tonight at 7:05.
