(Chicago, IL) - In the American League Monday, Chris Sale was dominating and Tyler Flowers provided the game’s only run during the Chicago White Sox 1-0 shutout over the Kansas City Royals at US Cellular Field.
The White Sox ace from 2011 left the game after pitching 7 and-two-thirds scoreless innings and striking out 7 batters.
Flowers led off the fifth-inning with a solo home-run off James Shields, who was making his debut for Kansas City after being acquired from the Tampa Bay Rays in the offseason.
The White Sox and Royals resume their 3-game series on Wednesday afternoon.
