(Washington DC) - In the National League Tuesday, the St. Louis Cardinals received a dominant pitching performance by Adam Wainwright in a 2-0 shutout over the Washington Nationals at Nationals Park.
Wainwright came within two outs of a complete game, striking out nine in eight and a third innings pitched.
His first walk of the season came in the sixth inning, a pass to Bryce Harper that loaded the bases for the Nationals.
