(St. Louis, MO) - In the National League Wednesday, Jake Westbrook received plenty of offensive support while throwing a complete game shutout in the St. Louis Cardinals’ 10-0 rout of the Cincinnati Reds at Busch Stadium.
Three different Cardinals contributed 2 run, home runs and Westbrook cruised to his first shutout in six years, limiting the Reds to 5 hits over the course of 9 innings.
The Cardinals pull into a first place tie with the Reds in the NL Central Division at 5-4 and begin a weekend series tomorrow against the Milwaukee Brewers in St. Louis.
The Reds travel to PNC park Friday to begin a three game set against the Pittsburgh Pirates.
