(Washington DC) - In Major League Baseball Tuesday, a comeback by the Chicago White Sox fell short in the ninth inning in losing to the Washington Nationals, 8-7 at Nationals’ Park in Washington DC.
Alex Rios cut the Nationals' lead to one in the ninth with his fourth home run of the season, a 2-out blast off of Washington closer Rafael Soriano.
Paul Konerko flied out to end the game after recording 4-RBIs for Chicago and a 3-run home run in the seventh inning.
The White Sox and Nationals play the second game of their interleague series tonight at 7:05.
