(San Diego, CA) - In the National League Monday, the St. Louis Cardinals dropped the first game of their West Coast road trip, losing to the San Diego Padres 4-2.
Shelby Miller allowed his first runs in three starts and left the game in the sixth-inning after beaning Jesus Guzman.
A run scored on the wild pitch, Miller's third earned run of the game, and the 22-year old fell to 5-3 on the year.
The Cardinals are 28-16 and play in San Diego tonight at 10:10.
