(Chicago, IL) - In the National League Wednesday, Carlos Beltran had three-hits, including a game tying single in the seventh inning, in leading the St. Louis Cardinals over the Chicago Cubs, 5-4 at Wrigley Field.
The 15-year veteran drove the ball over the head of Cubs' short stop Starlin Castro to tie the game at 4-4.
John Jay had the eventual game winning hit in the eighth inning by scoring Yadier Molina on a single to centerfield.
Anthony Rizzo had three-hits for the Cubs and tied the game in the first inning with an RBI double.
The Cubs are 13-21 and start a weekend series at the Washinton Nationals Friday.
The Cardinals are first in the NL Central at 21-13 and open a ten-game home stand when the Colorado Rockies visit Friday night.
