Garcia's Eight Solid Innings Propel Cardinals Past Reds

(St. Louis, MO) In the National League Tuesday, The St. Louis Cardinals ended a three game slide by beating the Cincinnati Reds 2-1 at Busch Stadium.

Matt Holliday hit the game winning home run with a full count in the sixth-inning, a two run shot over the left field wall that scored Carlos Beltran.

Jamie Garcia stuck out eight through eight-innings pitched in improving his record to 3-1. Brandon Phillips went 2-4 for the Reds, whose three game winning streak ended yesterday in slipping to 15-13 on the year.

The series wraps up this afternoon at 1:45 in St. Louis.
