(St. Louis, MO) - In the National League Thursday, the New York Mets ended their six-game losing streak with a 5-to-2 win over the St. Louis Cardinals at Busch Stadium.
Adam Wainright allowed three-runs in six-innings pitched in falling to 5-and-3 on the season.
Daniel Murphy went 4-for-4 and hit an RBI double in the third-inning for New York. David Wright followed with an RBI single that gave New York a 2-to-1 lead and later hit an RBI double in the sixth for a 3-to-1 Mets' advantage.
St. Louis is 26-and-14, have a game and-a-half lead on the Reds for first in the division, and open a home series against the Milwaukee Brewers tonight at 8:15.
