(Chicago, IL) - In the National League Thursday, the San Diego Padres rallied with two-outs in the eighth inning to score four runs and slide by the Chicago Cubs 4-2 at Wrigley Field.
A defensive miscommunication between second baseman Darwin Barney and centerfielder Julio Borbon allowed a routine fly ball to drop safely to the field.
Jesus Guzman scored to make it 2-1 Cubs, and the Padres scored three more on a passed ball and two RBI singles.
Scott Hairston gave Chicago the lead in the seventh with a two-run homer to left field.
The Cubs are 11-17 and open a home series against the Cincinnati Reds this afternoon at 2:20.
