(Cleveland, OH) - In the American League Wednesday, the Detroit Tigers outlasted a 62-minute rain delay to beat the Cleveland Indians 11-7 at Progressive Field.
Justin Verlander returned following the hour long break to win his fifth game of the year.
Michael Brantley went 3-5 and cut the Tigers lead to two with an RBI single in the sixth.
Miguel Cabrera hit his 13th home run of the season for the Tigers in the eighth, a two-run shot that Detroit an 11-7 lead.
