(Cleveland, OH) - In the American League Wednesday, Michael Brantley shook out of a batting slump to hit two home runs and lead the Cleveland Indians past the Kansas City Royals 6-3 at Progressive Field.
Brantley's first home run of the game cut the Royals lead to 2-1 in the fifth inning.
Mike Aviles had a sacrifice fly in the seventh to make it 5-2, and Brantley gave the Indians a four-run cushion in the eight with his second home run of the game.
Cleveland's left fielder was in a 1 for 19 entering yesterday's contest dating back to June 14th. Cleveland is 36-35 and host the Minnesota Twins Friday night.
