(WASHINGTON, DC) - After his initial court appearance, Colts safety Joe Lefeged faces two charges after his arrest in Washington DC early Saturday morning—possession of an unregistered firearm and having a firearm in a vehicle.
His public defender tells a story that differs from police accounts. She says when Lefeged was arrested, he was still seated in a car that had been pursued by police.
Police say he and another man were apprehended as they attempted to flee on foot. The driver got away and was still being sought this weekend.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled Tuesday morning.
