(Omaha, NE) - In college baseball, The Indiana Hoosiers’ extraordinary season came to an end Wednesday, losing to the Oregon State Beavers 1-0 in the College Baseball World Series in Omaha, Nebraska.
Matt Boyd threw a complete game shutout for Oregon State, striking out 11 and limiting the high-powered Hoosier offense to four-hits.
Indiana starter Aaron Slegers also pitched nine innings and surrendered the Beavers' one-run on a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning.
Indiana finishes the season with a 49-16 record, a Big-Ten Conference championship, and the team's first appearance in the College Baseball World Series in school history.
