(New York, NY) - In the National League Wednesday, the New York Mets homered three times in beating the St. Louis Cardinals 5-1 at Citi Field in New York.
Daniel Murphy and Lucas Duda each hit RBI singles in the first inning to give New York a 2-0 lead.
Duda later homered in the fourth inning for a 3-0 Mets' advantage, and David Wright and Marlon Byrd each had solo shots later in the game.
Yadier Molina leads the majors with a 358 batting average after going 3-4 at the plate.
The Cardinals are 42-23 and finish their series against the Mets this afternoon. First pitch is at 1:10.
