(Miami, FL) - The Indiana Pacers can appear in the NBA Finals for the first time in 14-years by knocking off the Miami Heat in game-seven of the East Finals tonight in Miami.
The Pacers neutralized the Heat in a 91-77 win in game-six Saturday night at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in pulling even at 3-3 in the best-of-seven series.
Pacers center Roy Hibbert was fined seventy-five thousand dollars by the league for using a homophobic slur and profanity in his postgame news conference Saturday.
The fine was levied after Hibbert apologized in a statement issued through the Pacers Sunday morning, saying he has "deep regret over my choice of words last night" and that the slur was not appropriate in any setting, private or public.
The winner of tonight's contest will play the San Antonio Spurs in game-one of the NBA Finals Thursday night.
The Pacers last made the championship round in 2000, when they were defeated by the Los Angeles Lakers in six-games.
