(undated) - In the National League Wednesday, the Cincinnati Reds extended their winning streak at Wrigley Field to 12-games by beating the Chicago Cubs 2-1.
Reds' starter Mike Leake improved to 6-3 by limiting the Cubs to three-hits over eight-innings pitched.
Nate Schierholtz provided the scoring for Chicago with a homer in the second inning.
Brandon Phillips tied the game in the sixth with an RBI single, and Todd Fraizer homered for the eighth time this season in giving the Reds a 2-to-1 lead in the seventh.
The Cubs are 25-38 on the year and are last place in the NL Central division.
The Reds are 40-26 and go for the four-game sweep at Wrigley this afternoon. First pitch is at 2:20.
