(New York, NY) - In the National League Thursday, Adam Wainwright notched his fifth win in five-starts and the St. Louis Cardinals defeated the New York Mets 2-1 at Citi Field in New York.
Wainwright notched his tenth win of the season, the most wins by a pitcher in the major leagues, by shutting out the Mets over seven-innings pitched.
Matt Harvey lost for the first time this season after pitching seven-innings and limiting the Cardinals to one-run, an RBI triple to Matt Carpenter in the third inning.
The Cardinals are 43-23 and begin a series at the Miami Marlins tonight at 7:10.
