(Chicago, IL) - In the National League, the Milwaukee Brewers scored five-runs in the ninth inning to sink the Cubs 5-0 at Wrigley Field yesterday.
Carlos Gomez opened the scoring in the ninth with a two-run single that made it 2-to-nothing Brewers.
Jeff Bianchi and Rickie Weeks each doubled in runs later in the evening in helping Milwaukee build a 5-0 lead.
Former Notre Damer Jeff Samardzija was lights out in pitching seven shutout innings and striking out seven.
The Cubs are 48-56 and play the Brewers tonight at 8:05.
