(Chicago, IL) - In Major League Baseball Monday, the Cubs stayed perfect against the White Sox this season after last night’s 8-2 win at US Cellular Field.
Luis Valbuena had a tiebreaking, two-run double in the eighth inning for the Cubs, who went on to score five-runs in the eighth in producing their first three-game winning streak since early June.
Josh Phegley homered for the second straight game and Gordon Beckham added a run later in the game by stealing home for the White Sox.
The Cubs are 39-48 and host the Los Angeles Angels tonight at 8:05.
The White Sox are 34-52 and open a series at the Detroit Tigers tonight at 7:08.
