(Phoenix, AZ) - In the National League, Nate Schierholtz doubled in the game winning run in the top of-the-twelfth inning to lead the Chicago Cubs past the Arizona Diamondbacks 7-6 early this morning in Phoenix.
Schierholtz finished with five-RBIs and hit a three-run home run earlier in the game in helping the Cubs build a 6-0 lead.
Jeff Samardzija pitched into the sixth inning and allowed three-runs on six-hits and five-walks.
The Cubs are 45-54 and wrap up their series against the Diamondbacks tonight at 9:40.
